SIOUX CITY SUE LEGACY GRANTS
We are seeking to support locally rooted rural organizations working to build the Democratic brand outside major metro areas with small ($3,000 - $10,000) grants.
J.D. is selling Sioux City Sue, the 2015 Winnebago that was central in his campaign for Congress, and donating the proceeds to locally based organizations and leaders using homespun strategies for engaging voters in small towns and rural communities.
In 2018, J.D.’s campaign put over 25,000 miles on Sioux City Sue while traveling to each of the 375 towns in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. He ultimately moved the needle by over 20 points in his district getting within three points of defeating Rep. Steve King, closer than any Democrat in recent history.
Now, J.D., with the sale of Sioux City Sue, J.D. is looking to support the next great rural engagement idea with a series of rural engagement grants.
Eligible organizations include grassroots groups with 501c3, 501c4, PAC, or Super PAC status.
Examples of possible rural engagement grants funded by the sale of Sioux City Sue:
County Fair Booths For Progressive Organizations
Fourth of July Parade Floats
Content producing equipment/training
If you or your organization would like to be considered for these grants, please fill out this application +form.
